Home / About

A purpose-led centre for health, wellbeing and community.

Sorrel Sanctuary exists to help people live healthier, more connected lives, through education, therapeutic support, preventative health and connection with nature.

Our story

From a rural property to a place of prevention.

Sorrel Sanctuary is being developed at Mount Sorrel, a rural property in Redbog, Blessington, Co. Kildare. The property will continue to operate primarily as a private residence, with designated areas used on a part-time basis to deliver structured health and wellbeing programmes, sensitive to the surrounding rural environment.

The organisation was established in response to growing demand for preventative health, workplace wellbeing and community connection. Our philosophy is simple: wellbeing is shaped by many interconnected factors, and the most meaningful change comes from prevention, self-awareness and practical skills, not treatment alone.

Vision

To create a sanctuary where people can reconnect with themselves, others and nature through evidence-informed experiences, community connection and personal growth.

Mission

Led by heart-centred people, we provide safe, well-held spaces where people can slow down, reconnect, and develop the awareness, skills and support to live healthier, more meaningful lives.

Positioning

Sorrel Sanctuary helps people come back to themselves, through safe, well-held experiences that bring clarity, calm and honest self-connection.

The place

Mount Sorrel.

The proposed Health & Wellbeing Centre will offer facilities to support a wide range of programmes while preserving the residential character of the site. Planned facilities include workshop and therapy spaces, a sensory room, accommodation and dining, an outdoor wellness area, sauna and cold-water therapy, a natural swimming pool, equine facilities, and nature trails and gardens.

The centre is designed at an intentionally human scale, a maximum of 24 participants and 30 people on site, so that every experience remains personal, safe and well-held.
